Recycled Glass Earrings - Woven Flax Drop Earrings

Show off your style with these unique Woven Flax Drop Earrings.  Crafted from up-cycled glass and adorned with a simple yet striking kiln-fused print inspired by woven flax.

The design is iron fused in our kiln onto the surface of the glass, hence the slight reddish colour. Every step of the process is done by us here in the StoneArrow workshop, starting from cutting the pieces from bottles, to being finished with handmade recycled Sterling Silver hooks.

Earring Total Length: approx 40mm.

Kete (baskets or bags) were traditionally woven by Māori in Aotearoa/New Zealand from Harakeke/flax in a range of sizes and styles for a variety of purposes, from storing food to carrying pounamu/greenstone.  In modern times artists and weavers now produce an elaborate selection of pieces crafted as both bags and artworks, often dyed in a brilliant array of colours.
