The world's rarest penguin, the Hoiho, is found only in New Zealand. The Maori name Hoiho means 'noise shouter', so named because of its shrill and piercing call. Penguins are flightless, and swallow small fish, krill and whole squid while swimming. They have more feathers than most birds, to survive in sub-zero temperatures.
